Students who are planning to take the written exam as part of the Certified Thai Bodywork Practitioner testing should review the following:

- study the front sections of the Level 2 and Level 3 manuals
- study the Shivago prayer and translation
- review your class notes on all classes taken, particularly body mechanics, technique benefits and contraindications
- you should have a basic understanding of Thai herbal compress usage, even though the course is not required for TBP
- be familiar at an overview level with Thai history and culture. TBW front sections are helpful as are books by other authors: Salguero, Apfelbaum, etc.
- be aware of some of the common pain referral patterns and what Thai techniques can help them (not at a detailed CTB level, but more general as we commonly discuss in our Level 2 and 3 classes)
- know the important medical issues and contraindications relevant to Thai massage
- issues specific to major client restrictions and concerns, such as pregnancy, aging, hypertension, etc.
