How much do massage therapists make in commission?

What a interesting conversation this is! I worked in Texas as a new therapist, and I worked commission only for massages and spa services, starting at 35% and going up to 55% plus tips, we charged around $75 a service. I opened my own business and I charge $60 hourly.

Apparently this is not always the norm, I knew other therapists who worked at Massage envy, Spa D’sante and Massage Heights who only made $12-$15 hourly + tips.

The biggest compromise is the life you want to lead. I prefer to get paid more, work less, and use my spare time to learn more about massage!

Just be confident in your abilities and ask for more than you think you will get. I always got the job after a massage demo!

Licensed Massage Therapists to work both inside of the clinic doing massage therapy and outside of the clinic doing chair massages at local businesses and corporations to promote holistic health. Must be great with people, ethical, fun, a team player and love their profession. We are a holistic clinic that emphasizes therapeutic massage. We provide holistic approach with chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy modalities, and personal nutritional/supplement consultations.

Requirements:
- We need therapists who are licensed and certified and interesting in learning acupressure massage. Flexible hours are available.
- Must be able to work 2 –6 hours at an event and one of our hostesses will go and coordinate the event with you. We provide massage chair and other materials.
Job Duty:
- Your job is to provide great massages both in and out of the clinic and to increase interest in our holistic center. It is very easy, gratifying and fun.

We are currently hiring at our location at 7 Mile Fair in Caledonia, Wisconsin. This is a part time position and you would only be able to work Saturdays and Sundays from 8AM-5PM. If you are interested in only working either Sat or Sun, that can be arranged as well. We provide acupressure chair massages. We are looking for people with some massage experience, but you do not need to be licensed. We can provide training if necessary. We are looking for reliable people who are outgoing and can communicate well with customers. You will receive 50% of your massages and tips. 10 minute chair massages are priced at $12, while 15 minute massages are priced at $16. Most people earn around $100+ per day. Infuse Yoga Spa is looking for one more Thai therapist to add to our team of 6 for a one-day downtown health & wellness fair. We’ll be doing mini-sessions for corporate employees in massage chairs.

Wednesday June 17th
10am-3pm

Compensation is $250 if you bring your own chair. Otherwise, $200 and we will provide one for you. Lunch will be provided.

Optional chair techniques for Thai workshop is available Sunday June 7 from 4-8:30pm for $50 if you need a brush up!
